gifted youngsters who will be entering kindergarten in the fall.
This course will encourage the development of pre-school
creative thinking skills through stimulating experiences with
language, math and science concepts as well as drawing,
painting and imaginative play. Children's literature, creative
drama and the world of science and mathematics will come
alive through a thematic approach.

1. Astronomy Delight!

The extremely popular and nationally recognized Astronomy Delight! is an extraordinary
class designed to inspire children and develop a true love of learning. Through story and
legend, NASA and Hubble space telescope slides of the moon, planets, stars and galaxies,
students learn about spaceflight, astronauts, new discoveries, and even cosmology while
viewing the sun, planets and celestial wonders of the daylight universe through large
professional telescopes. Meet "ROAI" the alien and "Katie the Comet with no tail" while
learning about the effect of light pollution on animals and nature, black holes, and even alien
life forms! Student role-play, fun "hands-on" experiments, props, graduation certificates and
awards all serve to increase the student's self-esteem and sense of wonder about the world
around them!
2. The Artist's Palette

An art palette is full of life! Red roars, blue whispers, and yellow yells about the possibilities and appreciation of color you can achieve. You will be creating rainbows, jungles, landscapes and still life with your new understanding of color theory as a means of self expression. Our art projects will include various mediums such as paint, crayons, colored pencils, cut paper and pastels. We will look at the works of great artists like Picasso, Pollack, Van Gough and Monet, and explore how their unique ways of using color have made their works special. There will be an exhibition to showcase the children's art. Remember Da Vinci produced his first masterpiece at age 18…so you will have a head start!
3. Insects, Bugs & Squiggly Things

If you are just "buggy" about the lives of insects you must join us as we enter the truly fascinating world of entomology! This course is an exciting hands-on approach to studying insects. Observe and document how caterpillars grow into colorful, lively butterflies and analyze other species of bugs alive in our classroom. How do ladybugs fly? Do silkworms really produce silk? We will explore these and many other mysteries of the insect world. You'll enjoy outdoor insect hunts, creating insect books, crafts and more!
4. Let Your Fingers Do the Talking

Are you ready for a "hands on" adventure? Let your fingers do the talking is a new class learning American Sign Language in new and exciting ways. First, we'll discuss how, why and when sign language began and how it became nationally recognized. Then, we'll start from the beginning with the alphabet and basic conversations. With some practice, we'll also learn the signs for popular song choruses like Miley Cyrus' 'Party in the USA' and Black Eyed Peas 'I've Got a Feeling.' Learning to speak with your hands is a wonderful and creative way to express yourself and communicate with others.
5. Fiesta de Musica

Quieres Hablar Espanol? Would you like to learn Spanish? Come travel south of the border and enter a fiesta of language and music as we learn songs from Spanish speaking countries. Students will discover the joy of language through song and dance with instruction in music theory while learning how to play the recorder and keyboard. Our class will culminate in a festival of song, dance and instrumental performance.

6. Eco-Exploration

Experience the outdoors with a new adventure everyday. Journey through the school ground habitat to discover the plants and animals that make it their homes. Become part of nature by using scientific techniques used to predict the weather based on cloud formation, examine soil and rock formation, collect insects, identify spiders based on their webbing, set footprint traps and animal camouflage tricks. Students will create nature journals with the power of observation and experimental learning.
7. Un' Esperienza Italiana

Experience Italy through the eyes of an ardent Italophile! Immerse yourself in Italian language and culture as you examine some of Italy's finest artwork. You will learn about the country's diverse regions and houses when we discuss how Italian daily life is different from ours. Together, we will make authentic pasta by hand while listening to some famous Italian composers like Vivaldi and Puccini. We'll go to the Pizzeria and Gelateria! Did you know that in Italy if you order peperoni on your pizza, it would be covered in red bell peppers? Discover the many marvels and regional delights of a country most Americans fall in love with.
8. Books of Thunder

Do you have a story to tell but lack the words to begin? Have you ever wanted to share your concern or joy about happenings in the world around you through story form? Have you thought about what certain sounds might taste like? What the shape of the smell of chocolate might be? What the texture of a clap of thunder could be or perhaps the color of your laughter? We will explore the art of storytelling by examining details through drawing, painting and bookmaking using the mediums watercolor, pencil and collage among other methods to execute our thoughts on paper. We will also learn how to think critically about the art we make and the messages it relates as we participate in class workshops designed to emphasize global community, humanitarian and multicultural ideas. Our creations through various drawing and painting exercises will be composed into book form and we will end our class with a book signing and exhibition of works. In three weeks we will make two paper books and one 3D story project: a pop-up book based on an adaptation of the poem Jabberwocky, an accordion book based on a personal six word memoir, a continuous sketchbook and one final self published book that will consist of all the class's work.

9. The Illusionist

Join Joseph Fields to uncover magic's biggest secrets and become proficient in the art of the illusion. You will be introduced to the basics involved in sleight-of-hand and showmanship. You will learn the ‘reveal' and the mechanics behind each beginning magic trick involving: ropes, scarves, coins, cards, balls and more! The delightful art of balloon sculpture will also be taught. This class will culminate in performing a parent magic show. Transform yourself into an illusionist with your own personalized magic briefcase full of tricks.

An introduction to the exciting world of chess. Students will learn basic opening, middlegame, and endgame strategies and how to achieve a proper coordination of pieces. Chess notation will be taught in order to review games. Instruction will establish an appropriate balance between lecture, discussion and structured play. As a special learning opportunity the Russian language will be introduced as it relates to chess play. Remember, chess makes you smart!
11. LEGOLand

Use Legos as the inspiration to construct, investigate and communicate like young Einsteins. Students will use models to predict, observe, measure and collect data, experiencing forces, motion, energy, mechanisms and magnetism first hand. They will develop complex problem solving skills and understand the interaction between forces and motion, measurement, energy, speed (velocity) and weight (mass). Science, technology and mathematical Lego models of a Land Yacht, Flywheeler, Windmill, Click-Clock, Magno-Bird and others will serve as the medium for this scientific experimentation. The basics of pneumatics will be introduced this summer. Students will explore power systems and components, sequence and control, pressure, prototyping, kinetic and potential energy. Special elements will include pumps, cylinders, valves, an air tank, tubes and a manometer. Campers must be able read and follow written directions to register for this course. Campers must be able to read and interpret instructions in order to register.

Do you want to know how things work? Do you ask the question "why" often? Do you dream of tomorrow? Then come and enjoy "Lego's Simple and Motorized Mechanisms". This course is designed to give campers an understanding of machines, mechanisms, structures, and mechanical advantage. You will explore the world of technology by studying and building projects that use renewable and alternative energy sources such as wind, solar power, water and your own body. You will investigate energy supply, transfer, accumulation, conversion and consumption through hands-on activities and exciting real life models. You are the engineer, you design, you build, you turn your dreams into reality.

13. "Into The Woods"

The magical musical by Sondheim "Into the Woods" intertwines the plots of several Brothers Grimm fairy tales and explores the cockeyed characters wishes and journeys. The main characters are taken from the stories of "Little Red Riding Hood," "Jack and the Beanstalk," "Rapunzel," "Cinderella" and of course the wicked witch! Their stories are tied together by an original plot involving a baker and his wife and also includes references to several other well known tales. We will sing and dance our way through this junior version with the musical numbers "I Wish," "Into the Woods," and "Happily Ever After." This is an adventure not to be missed! Lead roles will require several ½ hour recess rehearsals. The students will create and produce the show for performance at the conclusion of the first session for parents and campers.

14. "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown"

Join the fun and become part of the cast that will act and perform "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" adapted from the Peanuts comic strip by Charles M. Schulz. Featuring, Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, Peppermint Patty, Schroeder and the whole peanuts gang, we'll perform our favorite skits and stories from this delightful show (and even add a song or two.) We will all help Charlie Brown realize that being a "good man" means trying your best and making the most of the things you've been given in life. Happiness is……being in a show with your friends at Challenge!

15. Whose Line is it Anyway?

Join our amazing improvisation team where there are no scripts and everything is possible. Many actors and comedians use improvisational theatre and sketch comedy as a springboard to a successful career. Have a fantastic experience using role playing exercises to master elements of performance and improv technique. Brain Strains is an engaging and exciting hands-on curriculum that allows children to build math skills through brain teasers, riddles, logic games, puzzles, Suduko, tanagrams, rubrics and fantasy baseball. Baseball provides a terrific opportunity to ‘sharpen our pencils' and our math skills during the summer. The children draft their baseball players and track their game results using the MLB box scores that appear daily. These creative activities help children enhance their math and problem solving skills. "Brain Strains" is the ultimate numbers challenge! Math is about being smart, having intuition and being creative.

This class will allow you to become a game show contestant and play the role of host on shows like Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Minute to Win it and more! You will learn all about the selected categories and have the chance to stump your classmates by writing some of your own questions. Join us for this fun, fast-paced experience that will test your knowledge of academic subjects, pop culture and even current events!

The art of cartooning by hand is a wonderful form of creative expression, humor and fun. Join us to learn traditional techniques of cartooning including sketching, storyboarding and use of color. You'll learn to draw familiar faces such as Spiderman, Mickey Mouse and the Simpsons. Next, we'll dive into the ultra modern art of Japanese anime. The wildly popular anime characters have larger than normal eyes, exaggerated expressions and a stylized type of design. Your original anime illustrations will reflect your own personality, imagination and artistic style! Our cartoon gallery will be open for viewing by all.

Be an ad detective, learn the tricks of advertising and go behind the scenes of television, music, magazines and the science of selling "cool" to young people. Did you know that on average, young people spend four-and-a-half hours a day using television, video games and computers often blurring the lines between fantasy and reality. We will use our detective and critical thinking skills to dissect mass media: toy advertisements, the entertainment industry, children's television programming and websites. Examine food advertising tricks and design your own cereal box using what you've learned. This class will inspire young people to take a second look at the media messages all around them.

Have you ever wanted to be a secret agent or a detective? The techniques of forensic science will be revealed in your quest to solve mysteries. By experimenting with common household products, you will learn about secret inks and writing codes, fingerprinting and more. All your observation skills will be needed as you collect and record evidence to draw logical (and sometimes out of the box) conclusions. Using science to gather clues and brains to solve crimes is great forensic fun!

How do crime scene investigators gather and analyze evidence for criminal cases? Journey into the world of police detective and forensic scientist as we explore fingerprints, forged documents, hair and fiber, trace evidence, bones, blood, bullets, drugs and poisons, arson, DNA and more. Get ready to hunt for clues in order to apprehend the guilty and absolve the innocent. All of your observation skills will be needed as you collect and record evidence and draw conclusions necessary to solve the crime. Match wits with criminals as you find out "whodunit!"

Then, it's off to the pots and pans as you prepare and serve food based on your own Challenge Cook Book.

Drawing inspiration from current philanthropic companies like TOMS shoes, Newman's Own, Ben & Jerry's & Yoplait, your company will donate all profits to a worthy charity that benefits children. Last year's class donated $2,860 with our Challenge Cares Carnival and Silent Auction to the Children's Tumor Foundation.

Create your own three-dimensional artwork a la! Charles Fazzino! After being introduced to magnificent Mayan, European and Asian architectural styles, you will design an imaginary city and using this fascinating technique, will create a cityscape that will literally POP off the page! This program integrates an appreciation of architecture with learning how to design, plan and produce 3-D art.

In this artistic and architectural journey you will be exploring the design and creation of different architectural styles. We will begin with concepts of ratio and proportion and end with a scale model built according to each students own specifications. You will discover the uniqueness of old and new design techniques as you construct your own scale model buildings, bridges, skyscrapers, malls or homes. Materials will consist of foam board, wood, wire, color and special effects... even people, trees and cars. The design and construction of a model is a flexible open minded project which utilizes brainstorming, provides opportunities for divergent thinking as well as develops sensitivity to our environment.
27. Cirque De Sculpture

This new and unique circus inspired wire sculpture class will allow you to create lions, tigers, horses, clowns, acrobats, high wire acts or any circus performers you can imagine. Your creations will be reflected in the works of Calder, Giacometi, Picasso & Rodin. With soft and flexible aluminum wire and colored tapes, you'll bring your modern line drawings to life in a three dimensional circus. You'll experiment with context, outline, contour twisting and crimping of wire enhancing your artistic ability and vision while learning alteration of form, shape, angles, relationship of lines and movement. Projects will be mounted on wood that you will sand, stain and varnish. Catch hold of the wire and create your own man on the flying trapeze!
28. Jammin' Drums

For beginners to intermediate players this is a totally "hands on" and unique approach to studying rhythm in many forms. Your teacher is a professional musician versed in all styles of music from classical to rock. We will all play and sing together to some of your favorite songs. We will discuss the history of percussion and look at rhythms from around the world. There will be lessons on hand drums, drum circle, real rock band, creating your own percussion instruments and playing a drum set! Learn skills on various percussion instruments that we will provide like congas, shakers, cow bells, tambourines and more. Finally, we will record a CD of an original percussion piece the class will write together and each student will receive a copy!

No experience required. Study and learn with a professional engineer/music producer. This is an exciting, engaging and hands on approach to multi-track recording. This class includes: recording studio techniques and technology, microphone placement, sound effects like reverb and compression, as well as how to record various instruments and vocals. We will also study live music engineering techniques including use of mixing boards and PA systems. There will be lessons on the science of sound waves and signal path. We will also teach students how to use the popular Garage Band program. We will use garage Band to create a real recording studio for live instruments. If students play an instrument, sing or write music, they are encouraged to perform on our final recording project and class CD.

Welcome to the exciting world of aeromodeling. The milestones of aviation will be highlighted from the Wright Brothers to modern day drones. You'll learn about the science of flight and how planes actually take off, soar through the atmosphere and land. As a junior aviator you'll discover how pilots file a flight plan, communicate with the tower and plan an approach. Learn how to assemble, fly and repair your own remote control model airplane with hands on flight training. Each Junior Pilot will receive his/her own airplane and radio control supplies.

Bring the fascinating world of robots and electronics alive. Students with no previous experience necessary will solder and assemble mechanical and electronic parts to complete their own sound-activated "Scooter" robot. Bring the fascinating world of robot and electronics alive. The students in this class will learn about the tools and electrical components used in modern electronic devices. Then they will perform more intricate soldering and assembly of mechanical and electronic parts to complete their own "Scrambler". Robot. This advanced robot uses a state of the art infrared beam that sees objects and alerts the robot to alter its course to avoid the object. Advanced assembly techniques will be taught and the students will keep their tool kit, assembled robot, and the tools developed during the class.

Suitable for students who have already acquired a working knowledge of chess. The course will focus on methods of attack and defense, on long term strategic planning as well as tactics and combinations. Classroom lectures will emphasize the elements of logical thinking through a series of chess puzzles. As a special learning opportunity the Russian language will be added as it relates to chess play.

Join one of the class video production teams and participate in the fun of making an exciting video. The videos that will be created include animation and claymation, comedy, music and drama "movies". Learn about planning for a "shoot", camera operation, acting and directing. Prepare to break into the world of Real Radio Control. We will build an introductory model which will feature powerful electric motors, actual suspensions and rechargeable batteries for "never-ending" fun in competition. Assembly, finishing, customizing, tuning up and participating in competitions are just a few of the skills you will learn in this unlimited world of radio control modeling.

39. The Producers

Use digital images and MovieMaker (windows) software to tell your own story. This computer course combines creative writing with digital presentation skills. The culminating project is a self produced personal movie using photos/images, colorful text, designs, graphic art, songs, narration and sounds to create special effects and you do the editing! Campers will also learn to use other software like iPhoto, iTunes, Powerpoint and word. Your movies will be presented at the independent screening of the Challenge Film Festival.

Let's discover together the inner workings of computers. We will learn about these remarkable machines by taking them apart and putting them back together. We will examine their hardware and troubleshoot problems. We'll install an operating system and then learn what viruses and spyware do to our unprotected systems. Challenge Camp 2012 is now accepting applications for aspiring flight aviators to sign up for computer flight simulation and team training. The GT Top Flight Gun School offers an intensive program with hours of hands-on training in instrumentation, solo and team flight, way point navigation and radar reading.
The students will use a fully networked multimedia computer lab. Aviators will also participate in a team physical challenges and activities including obstacle courses, scavenger hunts and fitness training. The group will be divided into two Top Gun Squadrons instilling self-confidence and camaraderie. This competition will promote leadership and teamwork as they earn medals in our Top Gun Tournament. Each Aviator will receive a flight software program.

In this intriguing law class we will examine details of the trial process and the overall role of our legal system. As a lawyer, you will learn how to make strong arguments to a judge and jury. Your skills will be tested as we simulate trials in our "straight from the headlines" cases and reach a verdict.

This course, designed for students who are 15 years old, is an exceptional opportunity to learn and train to be a counselor in the Challenge Camp environment. The course meets daily and will involve such topics as: camper socialization, assistant teaching and coaching, building self-esteem, conflict resolution and more. Lunch is provided and the remainder of the day will be spent hands-on with our campers utilizing their new skills. CIT's will receive full CPR and First Aid certification as part of this curriculum. This course is continuous for 7 weeks and will allow you to grow as an individual with an emphasis on achievement, maturity and responsibility.

– The term origami comes from the Japanese words "Oru" meaning "folded" and "Kami" meaning "paper." 2. BRUSH UP YOUR SHAKESPEARE
Join us in Arden Forest for a Midsummer Night's Dream as we explore one of Shakespeare's most magical comedies. You'll learn how to master Shakespearean dialogue, stage techniques such as sword fighting and comic timing delivery. Speak the words of the bard as the love sick Hermia, the beautiful Titania or the ridiculous Bottom as Midsummer Night's Dream has some of the most loved roles in Shakespeare's works. Join us this summer and learn how "the course of love never did run smooth."
3. CHALLENGE SPEEDWAY
How would you like to race a remote control car on the Challenge Speedway? In this class you will have the chance to race a Camaro, Ferrari and other styles and models of cars around outdoor courses that you design with cones, ramps and more. You will get to keep your car/equipment in this action packed driving and racing class that will have you looking for the checkered flag! Enrollment is limited.

4. CHEERS TO THE LEADER
2,4,6,8. This cheerleading class is really GREAT! Girls and boys can join this class where they will learn over a dozen cheers and have the opportunity to to create and perform an original Challenge Camp group routine. 5. SEND IN THE CLOWNS
Come one, come all! Learn and enjoy the Circus arts! Out clowning class combines circus skills and techniques, physical education and character building in a non-competitive atmosphere. Try your hand at plate spinning, diablo, juggling, balancing, object manipulation, pantomime and slapstick. Come along with us for this exciting big top experience and…be a clown, be a clown, be a clown!
6. CLASSIC PINBALL
Based on the original pinball design, you will construct your own traditional pinball machine. This simple and elegant design will include flippers, ball shooters and lights and will be self contained and enclosed. While applying theories of science and technology this class provides unlimited creativity and enjoyment for pinball enthusiasts.

Welcome to the exciting world of computers. Plan and build an entire city in "Sim City", design a roller coaster, travel west as a pioneer on the "Oregon Trail", create runways in "Airport Tycoon" or live in an ant colony in "SIM Ant". Join as we explore numerous software titles.
8. COOKIE MONSTER
It is the ingredients, science and creativity that makes cookies chewy vs crispy, thick vs thin and healthy vs decadent. Our edible experiments will have you inventing your own cookies from scratch: colors, textures, shapes, sizes and of course flavors! Become a cookie dough mixologist as we bake with chocolate, oatmeal, fruit, cinnamon and more. We will decorate and package our creations into works of art and make a Cookie Monster recipe book.
9. DUNGEONS & DRAGONS
If you can imagine and think of lands and magical creatures, then you can play Dungeons and Dragons. Think of yourself as a character in a book. Imagine magical places and items – many surprises lie in wait.
10. Glee
Be a musical star in our show choir as we perform works from various Broadway shows, from Rodgers and Hammerstein classics to the latest pop songs. The course will focus on vocal technique, performance practice, stage presence and basic choreography. There will be opportunities for solo and ensemble singing. Join a choir that will be a showstopper!
11. HIP-HOP DANCE
Can you dance like Usher, Beyonce or Justin Beiber? This class will break down those fancy moves you see in popular music videos into fun and easy to learn steps. Learn the fundamentals of hip-hop dance: popping, locking, funk and bugaloo to name a few. Get ready to rock the dance floor with confidence and style.
12. GAMESTOP
Strategy and tactical skills will be improved through various card games like Gin Rummy, Hearts, Black Jack and Dominion, a Medieval card game. Other games are played on an analytical level to enhance math and science skills such as Mindtrap and Elemento, a chemistry board game using the elements. Come join us in this test of gamesmanship!
13. JUNIOR VARSITY
Specifically designed for 5-7 year olds, this sports activity and recreational games program is a wonderful introduction to the world of sports. All activities are designed to enhance and develop motor skills, coordination and sportsmanship through active play and instruction. Some of these activities include: running games, parachute challenges, throwing, catching, kick ball, mini golf, T-ball and more.
14. K'NEXplorations
This is a hands-on building experience designed to promote creativity and problem solving skills. Mathematical and Science design projects will be integrated to develop skill in construction using Rods and Connectors.
15. LEGO MINDSTORMS
Bring the fascinating world of robotic technology alive with Lego Mindstorms Robots! This robotic course teaches the students the principles of assembling and operating an interactive Lego Robot. Mathematical standards will be addressed as well as hands on building of mechanical and electrical systems in robotics. Accurate measurement, geometric relationships, problem solving and reasoning skills will be stressed for success. Students will bring science to life utilizing many possible Lego designs in addition to their own creations.
16. LET'S GO YU-GI-OH
Yu-Gi-Oh is the most popular card game for children. It combines strategy and imagination in fun battles. In one on one showdowns players must use their wits to out duel one another and win the game. In this class, beginners will learn the rules of the game and basics of creating a deck of cards. As players advance they will learn the strategy of play in attempting to become master of the game.
17. MAKE ‘EM LAUGH
Have you dreamed of doing stand-up/situational comedy like Adam Sandler, Tina Fey & Will Ferrell? In this class, you will learn the art of joke telling, the components of a funny stand-up routine and techniques needed to create an entertaining sketch comedy skit. We will use improv and role playing to unleash the inner comic in all of us as each student will write and perform their own side-splitting stand-up routine!
18. MARTIAL ARTS
Campers will learn a unique mix of martial arts that promotes physical fitness, mental clarity, relaxation, self-defense, respect, integrity and discipline. They will tighten, tone, and firm their body while building a positive self-image as well as increasing their self-confidence.
19. MECHANICAL MARVELS
A Rube Goldberg machine is a deliberately over-engineered machine that performs a very simple task in a very complex fashion, usually including a chain reaction. (Pre-requite-campers that have taken Snapshot or have photography experience) In this advanced photo "How to" adventure campers will explore various camera types and photo techniques such as the virtual tour. Building on their prior photographic knowledge and Challenge Camp experience with JC Cherubini, campers will complete a camp photo assignment on a topic like: Flowers & Wildlife, Sports & Action, Computer Imaging, Seasonal Landscape, Photo Collage and more! Each camper must bring a digital camera.
21."PROJECT RUNWAY"
Calling all fashionistas! Budding designers can create international wardrobe designs for tops, jeans, dresses, gowns and even shoes. Students will develop their own stylish textile designs from a variety of materials including fabric, gauze, cotton, tulle, silk, cardboard, linen, newspaper, feathers, etc. Their ‘project runway' will be stored in their stylish designer trunk of haute couture clothes collages in petite sculptures.
22. PUPPET STREET
Take a stroll down Puppet Street and meet your life-size puppet friends. Starting with a self portrait and using paper mache, paint, hair and clothes reflecting your own image, you will create an individual stylized puppet to take home and cherish. The puppet will become a treasured member of your family.
23. ROCKET UNIVERSITY
Rocket and Aerospace Engineering
Preparing for the "Final Frontier of Exploration"
Students will train to be real "rocket scientists" and "aerospace engineers" in this inspired new offering. In "Rocket University" you will learn about the history of rockets from ancient Chinese fireworks, to modern day spacecraft and military applications while discovering principals of launching, trajectories, thrust, navigation, flight paths, altitudes, orbits, recovery methods, safety and more! Students will receive their individual rocket kits and assemble them while applying what they have learned to their design and construction. You will launch your rockets and record data. 25. SNAPSHOT
Explore basic photography techniques, from camera functions to the use of computers in photography, photo printers and satellites. Our budding photographers will learn to see a photo in different ways and then paint a picture with various light sources using both film and digital cameras. Campers will learn how to create a variety of photo images from montages to trick shots, digital photo albums and slide shows with their own home pc or TV. You can capture your favorite hobby, dance recital or glamour snapshots through the magic of the camera and the lens. Each camper must bring a digital camera.
26. STAGE DOOR
Enter the world of theatrical production! Learn the art of costume and set design. Under the guidance of our artistic director, we will research, measure, design and create original costumes for the musical theatre production of "Into the Woods." Costumes/scenery will be constructed of fabric, paper, foam board, paint and other materials. This imaginative behind the scenes process will bring our production to "Life" and provide an awareness of the importance of stagecraft and design skills to the production. Participants from the theatrical cast are encouraged to join and other non-performers are all welcome!

Baking cupcakes is a creative, edible expression of happiness. Mix chocolate, vanilla, red velvet and other ingredients to create delicious cupcakes you never thought were possible. Ultimate Frisbee is an exciting, non-contact team sport that is played throughout the world and whose popularity continues to rise. Ultimate is a unique mixture of Frisbee, football and soccer, providing an exhilarating workout. The spirit of the game stresses sportsmanship and fair play.
29. UNDER THE SEA
Somewhere under the ocean lies the fascinating and exciting world of sea life and the mysteries of the ocean depths. Young oceanographers will use materials ranging from colorful papers, paints, found objects and personal treasures to create their own underwater seascapes. Time and tide will encourage this captivating array of art projects inspired by the sea.
30. VARSITY
Sports-O-Plenty; in this course we will explore a variety of sports and field activities. The campers will play a wide range of sports which will include: flag football, mini-golf, volleyball, obstacle course & field games, kick-ball, etc. This class is designed to keep the campers moving!
31. WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE
Join us on a whimsical mask making journey through the forest of humorous looking storybook monsters. Based on the "Wild Things" in the Maurice Sendak children's book, students will design and create fanciful masks using their own imagination. Just like Max, we will ultimately challenge our "Wild Things" and leave them safely behind!
32. YOGA
Learn to relax and let go of control by experiencing the power and concentration found in yoga exercises. While stretching is certainly involved, yoga is really about creating balance in body through developing both strength and flexibility. This is done through the performance of poses or postures, each of which has specific physical benefits. Proper exercise clothing required: loose pants and T-shirt.
33. ZUMBA
Zumba Fitness is a fusion of Latin American, Middle Eastern and other international beats that create a dynamic, fast moving and very effective fitness class. The easy to learn moves and routines combine fast and slow rhythms that motivate children to focus and release energy in a positive and productive way. Boys and girls benefit from this cardio and body-as-resistance training that ZUMBA incorporates in a fun, high energy, feel-good workout.
